After a declared calamity · Two routes
How you recover, and the ceiling on each
Neither route is automatic, and in both the owner reacts to someone else's valuation. An independent engineer's report supports both with the same documented facts.
Route 1 · State support
CCDR support scheme
Cap / dwelling€10,000
- Permanent own dwelling only
- Up to €5,000: photo or video, no vistoria
- Above €5,000: CCDR vistoria required
- Applied via CCDR Centro / CCDR LVT
Route 2 · Insurance
Multi-risk claim
CapAssessor's valuation
- Insured properties only (voluntary cover)
- Insurer appoints and pays the perito
- Payout = the assessor's figure
- No neutral valuer provided to the owner
Where both fall short: evidence. A timestamped engineer's report gives the owner a documented basis to support a CCDR estimate and to question a low insurer offer, before the repairs erase the proof.
